Mr. Hayes began his career at L.J. Ducharme Associates, Inc. (now Ducharme & Wheeler, Inc.), a civil engineering and land surveying company in Bolton, Massachusetts, in the fall of 1993 as an entry level engineer and spent a good deal of time as a field chief on a survey crew. Began learning basic site planning under the direction of registered engineers on staff through design and as-built of on-site sewage disposal systems (Title 5), and environmental regulations and filings (MA Wetlands Protection Act, MEPA, NPDES).

Mr. Hayes left L.J. Ducharme Associates, Inc. in February of 1995 to take a more challenging position at Lancewood Engineering, Inc. in Acton, Massachusetts. Gained more extensive civil/site engineering experience on larger land development projects (subdivisions, condominium site plans, commercial development projects), and developed skill in drainage design and utility layout. Gained extensive experience in public presentation of projects and client management and was promoted to manager of a branch office with a staff of five in a relatively short time. Mr. Hayes left Lancewood Engineering, Inc. in September of 1999 to start FORESITE Engineering Associates, Inc., which he has owned and operated from that time until the present.
